Eiffel Tower opening times

Eiffel Tower opening hours

The iron lady stays open year-round, but closing times stretch in summer and “last lift” is earlier than “gates shut”. Here is how to read the timetable without missing your summit slot.

🕐 Typical schedule (check official calendar)
First entry09:30 daily
Standard closing (lifts)23:45 most of the year
Summer extensionClosing around 00:45 mid-June–early September
Last summit ascent (typical)22:30 (later during summer nights)
Stair accessUsually closes ~30 minutes before lifts

📌 Confirm on toureiffel.paris — times change for events and maintenance.

Why “closing time” is not your photo finish

SETE stops selling new summit tickets well before the monument’s advertised closing. If your ticket says 22:30 last ascent, arriving at 22:29 with a family still in security is a gamble. Aim to clear security at least 45 minutes before your slot on busy evenings.

Special days that catch people out

14 July (Bastille Day) — fireworks on the Champ de Mars force an early closure of visitor lifts; the exact time is announced annually.

Strikes — French labour actions can shorten hours with little notice. Check social media and the official banner on toureiffel.paris.

Weather — ice or storm-force wind can close the summit while lower floors stay open.

Restaurants ≠ monument hours

Madame Brasserie and Le Jules Verne run reservation kitchens with their own seatings. A 21:00 dinner reservation does not automatically grant a 22:00 summit visit—those are separate products.

💡 Sunset planning

In June, sunset is after 21:30. Book a slot about 90 minutes before sunset if you want golden light on the Seine and time to reach the top before queues peak.
